CLASS OF '65 RIDES AGAIN

The endearing class of 1965 does it again by celebrating

the Big 6-0 Birthday TOGETHER!

It was like having 100 of your best friends sharing the occasion.

The collective effort was planned by committee but the original driving force was Bill Bjorklund, who passed away suddenly months prior to the event. Fortunately for all classmates, Magi, his widow assured everyone in attendance that Bill would have wanted the party to be a happy time had by all.

Fortunately Debbie was the planner and Mary Susan agreed to be the coordinator and Graceland was the vision. We toured the mansion, museum, plane, et al. Corky's professionally, catered the delicious ribs & chicken buffet.

The evening was organized down to the DJ. He had orders to play songs from the 60's. The selection committee determined a DJ would be "easier on the ears."

This class definitely wanted open communications so we could talk about old times and our more recent lives. Most everyone there felt the tremendous, caring atmosphere, even spouses. There were no outsiders that night except those that chose to be.

Big hugs, kisses and maybe even a tear or two ended a very special evening which our classmates will never forget.

In addition, we've planned a bi-monthly dinner because we all enjoy the pleasure of each other's company.

2005 Reunion "over the top success"

[posted August 26, 2005] Our 40th reunion was an over the top success

August 23, 2005 - Our 40th reunion was an over the top success. From the emails and post reunion personal conversations with classmates who attended, band members, teachers and the GCC staff....all of them said they have never witnessed such a cohesive, fun loving, high spirited group than that at our 40th reunion. Our teachers said this was one of the most love filled, nicest and largest attended reunions they have ever observed.

Our classmates did not venture too far from their roots. Tennessee led in attendance with 66% versus 34% all other states. From our class of 265 members, 52.5% attended their 40th reunion, 47.5% did not for various reasons.
