Did you know you almost went to Prescott High?
It was August, 1948. Major stories on the front page of The Commercial Appeal that month included the death of baseball's home run king, Babe Ruth, and the opening of registration centers for the peace-time draft. Supermarket inventor Clarence Saunders was opening a Keedoozle store on Union Avenue in what was described as his third attempt at a fortune, having gained and lost two previously.
