My name is Amelia Kamaria Jones. I am born on June 28, 1988 and raised in a great city by the called of Memphis, TN. I live both my parents and have 1 brother, 1 step-sister and 3 step-brothers all of which are from Memphis. My favorite colors are purple, blue and orange. I can be very outspoken when I have strong feeling for something that interest my. My hobbies are listening to music, hanging out with my friends and doing hair. I have a boyfriend who attends Jackson State University and is a band member but he will be attending University of Memphis next fall.
I graduated from East high School, Home of the Might Mustangs. GO MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I graduated with a 2.7, number 175 in my class of 242. I attended East High the seventh thru the 12th grade. I was member of BPA (Business Professionals of America) East High Chapter as well as DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) East High where I held the position as Secretary.
I attend University of Memphis so that i could stay close to home. I love the Mascot but I’m still a Mustang. I wanted to be close to home but away so that’s why I live on campus, to get the best of both worlds. While in DECA competitions at the University I became very familiar with The Fogelman College of Business and thought it would be a great place to start my Business Career. The Major I chose to pursue was Business Marketing wit a Minor in Real Estate. I just love business and how it operates.
I’m from here and I live about fifteen minutes away so I really don’t have any fears, but I can say I’m a little nervous about some things. Things like I’m I going to have enough time to do all the things I need to do as far as the taking care my work and other matters at hand. So far what I have seen is that college is no where near like what high school was. I know that with steady pace I can pass everything. This is my freshman year, it will be fun.
My hopes for this semester are to do basically good in all my classes. I plan on working on and maybe off-campus but school has to come first. One group I will be a apart of is Minority Affairs, which will be the start of a lot of other things. Dealing with my major, hopefully, I can get a job or an internship with a promising company that would be good enough to pay for my college education. College is wonderfully to just experience.
My support system is very high. I have a lot of family and friend who support me finically and mentally. My church gives away scholarships that will aid in a higher education for any member of the church graduating. My parents are working to make sure that I as well as my brother, who is also in college, graduate from both of our schools. My parent’s co-workers and friends support me and my brother.
College can be very challenging as a freshman. You want to do everything there is to do on campus. You still want to have want to everything out-side of college itself but u cant all the time. To me education can help get far in life.

What's going Class of 2006!? I guess with social networking (Facebook, Twitter, etc) there isn't really much to update everyone on because it's so easy to stay in touch. For those of you who I haven't spoken with since high school here's a little update. I recently graduated from the University of Memphis in May 2011 with a B.B.A. in Marketing Management. I am currently working as a student adviser for KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools in the KIPP Through College Department and as a part time sales consultant at CarMax Auto Superstores in Memphis. I am happily married to Alyssa Payton (Carter) and we do not have any children. I hope more of you join this page and continue to update us on what you are doing in life. I look forward to seeing everyone at the 10 year reunion! Be Blessed!

This summer I ran summer AAU track with the Blues City Runners. Although I did not participate in the district meet in Kingsport TN, I ran in the regional meet in Knoxville. I ran on the 4x800 meter relay team. We won the gold medal. We competed for the national championship at the AAU Junior Olympics in Hampton Road Virgina. We completed at Norfork State University. I ran the first leg of the 4x800 meter relay and we finished in ninth place. Last year we finished in 12th place in the 2005 AAU Junior Olympics in New Orleans, LA.
Right now I started my college career at Mid South Community College in West Memphis AK. I really like the school as so far, I'm having fun.
